CFS stands for Chris Frederick Sellin, a proud Bidjara and Gunggari man who dedicated his life to family, community, and service. Chris worked as a qualified paramedic, beginning his training in Yarrabah before serving communities in Gordonvale, Ravenshoe, and Cairns across Far North Queensland.

As a hardworking man and loving father to four daughters, Chris instilled in his family the values of love, respect, discipline, and strong work ethics. He was deeply committed to creating a better future for his children and his community.

Chris’s life was tragically cut short by Motor Neurone Disease (MND), a devastating illness that left a lasting impact on his family and community. In his honour, CFS Sports Wellbeing Aboriginal Corporation Hub was founded to carry forward his legacy—using sport, culture, and family connection as powerful tools to build stronger communities.

This corporation is not just about sports. It is about healing, prevention, education, and legacy—bringing families together, raising awareness for Motor Neurone Disease, and ensuring Chris’s values live on in the generations to come.

In keeping with Chris’s legacy, any funds left over from sporting carnivals will be donated to Motor Neurone Disease research, helping to fight the disease that took his life and supporting the hope of better treatments and outcomes for others.
